WILDWOOD PARK
Cirencester

Wildwood Park is made up of most of the properties south of Cherry Tree Drive, comprising Bluebell Drive, The Glade, The Green, the larger but unlabelled Primrose Way circuit, and little Foxglove Close just off the entrance. In closer view, every property has at least one adjoining parking space, and a garage attached or close-by.
But this view does clearly show the fact that many of the properties look out onto open fields, chiefly pastures used by horses stabled in Siddington village. The stripey effect on one field is due to the 'rig and furrow' formation left from an ancient farming system (as detailed in Wikipedia).

Those horses add interest beyond the fences of a range of properties -

- sometimes joined by a few sheep -

- and very occasionally by one or a number of wild roe deer.

Each property is owner-occupied by inhabitants of mature years in accordance with sundry rules and regulations. They take pleasure in the limited scope for gardening, keeping appearances neat and tidy - often colourful too.

All pitches are occupied. Ownership changes take place from time to time as with traditional housing, though with simpler procedures and formalities. Very occasionally a new unit is inched in to replace an older model.

"The Green" (tended by staff) lives up to its name, summer and winter.
Still some white frost in the shade.

The local shopping centre is, of course, Cirencester itself - "The Capital of the Cotswolds". The town centre market is seen here on a dull December day with Christmas tree and festive stalls.

Providing basic help to get you there perhaps, 'our' bus shelter on Siddington Road, just 150 yards from Wildwood Park, is in true Cotswold style!
